Meet the Baileys: A Calling to Youth Ministry

For more than 23 years, Rob and Christal Bailey have been willing to go anywhere the Church of God asked them to, including the green lawns of Sylacauga, Alabama to the enchanted land of New Mexico. As a result of being elected at the Church of God General Assembly last July, the Baileys have finally been called back home to Cleveland, Tenn., where Rob will serve as the International Assistant Youth and Discipleship Director.

Griffis, Propes Cast Vision for World Missions

David Griffis, former first assistant general overseer for the Church of God, and M. Thomas Propes, secretary general for the last four years, are the new leaders for Church of God World Missions. Both were elected at the International General Assembly held in Nashville in July. For the first time two immediate past members of the International Executive Committee (IEC) have come from the committee to lead World Missions as director and assistant director.

Lee University Donates Organ Console to Local Congregation

Cleveland, TN–Lee University recently donated an organ console to St. Luke’s Episcopal Church of Cleveland. Representatives of the local school, the church, and Barger & Nix Organs gathered to oversee the transfer of the console.

Youth and Discipleship Support SYATP Event

See You at the Pole is a prayer gathering, led by students and children, where they gather with others prior to school to unite together. Historically, Church of God Youth and Discipleship has always supported and engaged with SYATP.

Leadership 2016 Set for September 14-16; Portions to be Livestreamed

]Cleveland, TN–State and regional administrative bishops, youth and discipleship directors, and leaders of ministries at the international offices are set to gather in Cleveland at the Pentecostal Theological Seminary, North Cleveland Church of God, and International Offices Conference Center on September 14, 15, and 16. The theme of the event is “Leadership Renewal for the FINISH Commitment: Investing, Empowering, Advancing.”

Four Decades of Church of God Missionary Commitment

In 1975, Ron and Kathy Countryman sold their home and farm in Illinois and headed west. They responded to the call of God to minister to the Native Americans near the Yellowstone River in Montana. First and foremost, they realized they were going to need unending patience in this venture of evangelizing.
