New Jersey Pastor Opens Free Health Clinic

Dr. Philip Bonaparte, pastor of New Hope Church of God in Trenton, New Jersey, recently opened a free health center in Trenton. Bonaparte, former chief medical officer at Horizon Blue Cross Blue Shield of New Jersey, sees patients free of charge and said, “I am focused on providing free care to those who don’t have health insurance or a regular source of care.”

Almost 300 local church pastors and leaders from across the Great Lakes Region of the Church of God recently chose the location closest to their local church to gather with their peers for a time of united training and equipping for ministry.

‘Saturday Night Fire’ Will Continue Prayer Effort

“Lead from my knees,” is the language Church of God General Overseer Mark Williams used on the last night of the recent 21 Day Virtual Prayer meeting, which registered almost 5,000 connections over the course of the three weeks. Williams and his wife Sandra Kay led portions of the call on the last night, January 31. Peggy Scarborough, who serves as prayer coordinator for South Carolina and conducts similar calls for various prayer efforts, noted that the response was, “beyond anything comparable.”

Cleveland, Tenn.–Members of the Church of God Canadian National Council are gathered this week for their annual meeting. This year, for the first time, their meeting is being held at the Church of God International Offices.

Williams Receives Global Synergize Award

During the North American Roundtable On Biblical Preaching in Melbourne, Florida last month, Mark Williams, general overseer of the Church of God, received the Global Synergize Award for 2015 from the Billion Soul Network.

Middle East Seminary Equips Students to Spread the Gospel

Recently, Church of God General Overseer Mark Williams visited a missionary project in an undisclosed Middle Eastern country. There are few nations in the region open to the Gospel, and although this nation is one that is less hostile, the law has harsh penalties for converting Muslims to another faith. While visiting, Dr. Williams spoke at an assembly of the churches in the desert country.
