In the initial years of world evangelism, missionaries were welcomed and allowed into most countries to just spread the Gospel. As time and cultures progressed, a missionary now will only be accepted if he/she has a skill or career, such as medical or educational, that will benefit the society into which they are called to minister.
A team of young Christian writers & producers are collaborating with experienced Hollywood talent to create an animated feature-length action film with a Christian message. The film, titled “Heaven | The First War,” portrays the biblical story of the first war in heaven, the fall of Lucifer, the battle between forces of good and evil, and the impact of sin’s origin on the human race.
TechSoup Global (www.techsoup.org), a nonprofit that donated $37 million worth of technology products and services to nearly 10,000 churches and other religious organizations last year, is now able to offer more products to additional recipients due to an expansion of donation eligibility rules by major technology companies.
What: Roughly 100 people – including young local activists, out-of-state clergy and veteran community activists – will hear Ferguson-inspired raps, chants and skits, Justice-focused prayer and songs by clergy, and testimony from Oakland and Buffalo leaders about how community policing and high school restorative justice programs are reducing police shootings and school conflicts.
