New Church Planting Resource Book from Evangelism and Missions Information Service
The Evangelism and Missions Information Service (EMIS), an extension of the Billy Graham Center at Wheaton College, has issued a practical and thorough compilation of practical articles on church planting. Extending God’s Kingdom: Church Planting Yesterday, Today, Tomorrow is a compilation of lessons and guidelines from the practical experiences of over thirty experienced church planters worldwide. “This helpful and practical book is really a field handbook, not just a reference tool, and provides a one-stop resource on church planting,” according to Dr. Grant McClung, President of Missions Resource Group (www.MissionsResourceGroup.org), and a member of the umbrella group responsible for the publication.
“This is the third in a series of practical monographs produced for missionaries, missions leaders and teachers, and local church missions leaders,” McClung noted. The first two covered the topics of short-term missions and effective ministry in Muslim contexts. The publications are produced by the editorial team at Evangelical Missions Quarterly (www.emqonline.com), a noted publication providing the best in evangelical missions thinking for some fifty years. McClung is a member of the EMIS Editorial/Advisory Committee.
“In the decade I have represented the Church of God and the Pentecostal/Charismatic Movement in this interdenominational capacity,” McClung stated, “I have seen a serious commitment by some of the finest minds and dedicated hearts toward fulfilling the Great Commission to the ends of the earth. I urge our missionaries, church planters, and trainers to make use of this practical and helpful new resource toward extending God’s kingdom.” The book may be ordered at www.emisdirect.com.
McClung is Missiological Advisor to the World Missions Commission of the Pentecostal World Fellowship and an International Missionary Educator with Church of God World Missions.
