Missionary Blog: Couple Connects Decades Later
Glen Anniskette and Susie Leach first met at West Coast Bible College in the 1970’s and since both of them were shy (at that time) they never spoke.
(NOTE: This article begins a series of blogs from Susie Leach Anniskette, and her husband, Glen, to illustrate the life and times of a Church of God missionary).
Forty years passed and while Susie sat at her desk at Lee University in the Communication and the Arts Department (for 12 years), Glen was at his computer in Africa on a mission trip. He began the conversation; she replied and they were married six months later in the Westmore Church of God.
Bishop Glen Anniskette has served as an international missionary evangelist for the Church of God for 35 years. He’s ministered in 63 nations. To the best of his knowledge, he’s the only full-blooded, Tlingit (pronounced klinkit), American Native Bishop in Alaska. To top it off, he’s the prince of his tribe.
Susie Leach (now Anniskette) earned her B.A. in Communications from Lee University and her M.A. in Journalism from Regent University. She presently teaches online and on campus part time for Lee University. Susie’s children and grandchildren live close by and can testify to the fact that things have changed somewhat in her life.
This mini missionary blog is from her perspective of being a new missionary “on the field.”
More to come…
