God Supplies Need for Local Congregation

MISSOURI — In 2009, Victory Fellowship Church of God in Waynesville, Missouri, received a substantial donation of tools from Kipper Tool Company of Gainesville, Georgia.

Kipper Tool is the largest supplier of construction and maintenance tool sets to the U.S. Army, and when numerous sets underwent configuration changes many tools no longer met specifications. Jerry and Nancy Kipper asked Alan Schlie, a long-time friend and Local Missions Representative (LMR) at Victory Fellowship, if the church would be able to use the tools. He responded, “Yes! They will be perfect to support our missionaries and our planned constructions or disaster relief work!” The result was a number of deliveries of tools and accessories. Kipper Tool had previously provided tools used by church members during short-term mission trips and disaster relief.

Items from those donations were given to sister-churches in Missouri; missionaries in Ghana and Togo, and Honduras; as well as taken on short-term mission trips to Arizona, Montana, El Salvador, Belize, and Honduras.

This spring the Victory Fellowship Mission Board decided to donate a portion of the tools that had been retained for future use, since they had been on-hand for a while. Our local missions representative contacted Church of God World Missions to determine if there was a need only to find that Men and Women of Action (MWOA) had recently lost numerous tools due to a break-in at their storage facility. Comparing the list of tools needed by MWOA and what Victory Fellowship could provide appeared to be a perfect match.

Teddi Bennett, after coordinating the shipment, and MWOA Director, L. Hugh Carver, met Alan Schlie and Charles Pointer at the MWOA storage yard on May 1. They accepted a small generator and air compressor along with pneumatic nail guns, drills, impact wrenches, a circular saw, sockets, numerous hand tools, tool bags, extension cords, and boxes of nails. One item was a unique folding ladder designed for soldiers to enter second story windows during urban operations.
