Operation Compassion Intensifies Ministry on Indian Reservation
Beginning last Fall Operation Compassion has been helping the First American Distribution Center (FADC) deliver more goods than ever. Through a grant given by one of Operation Compassion’s partners, FADC now receives regular truckloads of fresh produce. With the spiraling rates of diabetes and other medical issues, the fresh produce will help stabilize the diets that depended upon processed foods loaded with sugar, sodium and other chemicals.
In addition to the fresh produce distribution, FADC serves hundreds through its local ministries and 45 satellite ministries across the Reservation. Hot meals are served, food boxes, blankets, clothes, shoes, hygiene packs, nursing mother’s packs, baby hygiene packs, new born baby hats, strollers, car seats, crib sheets and mattresses were all distributed through FADC.
“Through the efforts of Mike Hartwell, executive director and Malcolm and Robin Floyd, onsite coordinators, FADC has been doing more distribution than ever before,” stated Dave Lorency, director of OC. “While Mike and Malcolm have their responsibilities of running FADC, special recognition is due Robin. She helps set up the distributions, inventories, prepare hot meals, reports monthly the activities of FADC including all the satellite partners and does many other things to help keep everything operating smooth.”
