Coleman Peacock Named to The National Register’s Who’s Who
In a letter from the CEO, Joseph Rousseau, of National Register’s Who’s Who, Dr. Coleman Peacock, Residential Director of the Iris B. Vest Widows Ministry Center, was informed of his inclusion in the prestigious publication.
The letter reads, “I would like to take this opportunity to congratulate you on your inclusion in The National Register’s Who’s Who Among Business and Professional Achievers and to welcome you personally. Our family of prestigious professionals is fortunate to have someone of your caliber among us.”
The letter continues, “When you collaborate with our membership, you know you are working with the best of the best. Like yourself, in addition to having a reputation of excellence and integrity, each member has a track record of exceptional accomplishment.”
Mr. Rousseau concluded by saying, “My staff and I take great pride in the caliber of achievers that we give extra measure of recognition to each year. It is your greatness that makes The National Register’s Who’s Who Among Business and Professional Achievers such an esteemed publication.”
The directory of National Register’s Who’s Who is printed once each year and includes the names of those who have been nominated and accepted by the Board of Directors. This year’s edition will be registered in the Library of Congress in Washington, D.C.
Dr. Coleman Peacock currently serves as Residential Director of the Iris B. Vest Widows Ministry Center in Sevierville, Tennessee. He is a credentialed Ordained Bishop in the Church of God where he has served in a variety of positions, including State Laymen’s Board, Youth Pastor, Pastor, State YCE Board Member, and State Youth and Christian Education Director. For 21 years he has served the Division of Care and the Smoky Mountain Children’s Home as Director of Communications, Public Relations, and Education. He is a graduate of the University of Georgia and Chelsea University from which he received his Doctor of Philosophy in Public Relations. Coming to the Department of Benevolence in 1989, Dr. Peacock brought with him an extensive experience in church ministry and public education, during which time he was honored as Georgia’s Industrial Education Teacher of the Year and Vocational Educator of the Year. Since 1989 he has served the Division of Care and SMCH as Director of Communications and Public Relations. Under his leadership as Director of Education, Alpha Educational Learning Center, a Category VII private school for transient students with academic needs, was established on the SMCH campus. Dr. Peacock and his wife, Bonnie, who serves as Office Manager at the Widows Center, have served as both adoptive and foster parents.
Dr. Peacock is an accomplished photographer, graphic artist and writer. He has served as editor of Love Reaching Magazine, From the Home Front newspaper column, and many articles. In 2005 his poem Peaceful Dream was published by the International Library of Poetry in the book A Surrender to the Moon. In February of 2005, in recognition of his poem Wonder of a Waterfall, he was presented the Outstanding Achievement in Poetry Award by the International Society of Poets and recognized as a Poet of Merit.
