Pentecostal Theological Seminary Plans Minister’s Week

Cleveland, TN–Over the years, Pentecostal Theological Seminary has hosted an annual conference called Ministers’ Week. It is for aspiring to strengthen and cultivate a strategic alliance between the theological education and ministry praxis. This year the event will be conducted on April 16 and 18 on the campus of the seminary in Cleveland, Tennessee.

As a part of the continuing effort in this direction, PTS is proud to announce that the 2013 Ministers’ Week will focus on the theme of holiness: Restoring Holiness in Experience, Living, and Teaching.

In particular, the 2013 Ministers’ Week is poised to become the historic first-ever consultation of leaders from the original Holiness-Pentecostal churches who embody the “heart” of the movement. The presiding bishops of variegated churches in Holiness-Pentecostal tradition will gather as speakers and panelists during the conference. Besides special chapel services on Tuesday and Thursday with guest speakers, the conference will host a roundtable discussion over a luncheon that will highlight leadership responses to the emerging issues in our churches today. The panelists will include:

Bishop Randy Howard, General Overseer for the Church of God of Prophecy

• Dr. Doug Beacham, General Superintendent for the International Pentecostal Holiness Church

• Bishop Brandon Porter, Member of the Presidium & General Board of the Church of God in Christ

• Bishop Mark Williams, General Overseer for the Church of God

Dr. Steven J. Land, President, Pentecostal Theological Seminary will serve as moderator.

“Whereas the original vision and spirit of the Holiness-Pentecostal movement seems to have grown dim, its passion cooled, and experience often gone the way of legalism or libertinism, this year’s Ministers’ Week conference seeks to provide an opportunity to rekindle the shared passions for the holiness of heart and life that typify the Holiness-Pentecostal tradition and its ministry praxis,” Land stated. “This conference is therefore critically significant as we seek to prayerfully discern together what the Spirit is saying to the churches in and through engaging dialogues with one another. We look forward to this historic meeting.”
