Retired Ministers/Widows Conference Is This Weekend
Cleveland, TN–Hundreds of retired ministers and their spouses, as well as widows of ministers, are headed to Cleveland, Tennessee and the campus of Lee University where they will be hosted for a time of fellowship, food, concerts and worship. Theme for the conference is “Witnesses to the Word.”
The event is sponsored by the Center for Ministerial Care under the Division of Care Ministries. Lee University will host the delegates in their residence halls and meals will be served in the Deacon Jones Dining Hall. Over 600 are expected to attend.
The weekend begins with registration this Thursday, May 9 and an opening worship service to be held in Conn Center. Lee President Dr. Paul Conn will welcome the delegates and special music will be provided by the Westmore Church of God choir and soloist Dr. Bill Leonard. Featured speaker will be David Griffis, first assistant general overseer of the Church of God.
Friday will include a general session featuring Annette Watson and an afternoon tour of the Church of God International Offices. On Friday evening, the retired ministers, spouses and widows will hear the music of Mount Olive Ministries Choir and the Dallas Church of God Trio. Bringing the message will be Church of God General Overseer Mark Williams.
Saturday morning will close out the festivities with, “An Old Fashioned Gospel Singing” led by Steve Holder and Anointed Praise, Hopewell Church of God Choir and the Dallas Trio.
