“Looking through the small window of the plane as I flew into Oklahoma City, I saw the massive devastation of the tornado that swept through Moore and El Reno,” Hill stated “Just as quickly, I viewed thousands of volunteers who had converged on the tattered neighborhoods, bringing with them compassion, muscle power, and hope.”

Regional Overseer Darrell Rice met Hill at the airport, and immediately went to the areas hardest hit by the monstrous storm.

“Among those on the ground are Church of God chaplains and the crisis relief workers of Operation Compassion, Men and Women of Action, God’s Pit Crew, and others,” Hill said.

In the days following the May 20 storms, World Missions presented checks to the four agencies. According to Hill, World Missions has directed $29,000 toward relief in Oklahoma. By partnering with the various agencies , World Missions has been able to help accelerate the recovery process.

“On behalf of Church of God World Missions and following the lead of our general overseer and the Executive Committee, I was delighted to present the financial assistance caring people have given over the last few days,” Hill continued. “Everyone can be proud of each agency and the volunteers that are pouring their strength, resources, and love into this state.”

Hill went on to say that the effort will not be finished swiftly, and, “I join with our General Overseer Dr. Mark Williams in asking you to continue helping in this recovery with your prayers and finances. Your gifts are greatly appreciated.”
