The Alabama Piedmont Journal wrote, “While most children are just beginning to enjoy their summer, five-year-old Hannah Cox has been braving the heat to raise money for something very dear to her heart.” The article continued, “Hannah, along with the help of her dad, David Cox, set up a beautiful lemonade stand outside of OK Tire on Memorial Drive in Piedmont, Alabama. Attached to the front of the lemonade stand is a poster with pictures of many children whose lives have been changed by the Smoky Mountain Children’s Home in Sevierville, Tennessee.”

When asked what she thought about the children at the Home, she replied, “They are so cute and I just love them.” She smiled and asked her supporters that stopped by if they preferred regular or pink lemonade. She always said, “Thank you” to everyone who stopped to support her efforts.

The Journal also quoted her dad saying, “I am thankful that my daughter has such a loving heart.” David and Keena Cox pastor the Piedmont Church of God in Alabama. Those who would like to help Hannah, but are unable to make it to her lemonade stand, visit www.smch.org to place a donation in Hannah’s name.

Hannah came to the Smoky Mountain Children’s Home on Wednesday, July 31, 2013 to present SMCH Director Dr. Daniel F. Boling with a check in the amount of $252.84. Boling shared with Hannah his sincere appreciation for her thoughtfulness and support for the children at the Smoky Mountain Children’s Home.
