Giving Honor to Whom Honor is Due
Last week, I had the privilege to attend the induction ceremony into the Pentecostal Theological Seminary Hall of Prophets for Robert and Jeanette Crick. I know Dr. Crick and Jeanette hold a special place in the hearts of Church of God Chaplains and I wanted to relate the event to those of you who were not able to attend.
Most of us know Dr. Crick from our direct involvement with him through the Chaplains Commission. He was the first Director of the Commission and served the church and us for 32 years in this ministry. He was instrumental in bringing most of us into the chaplaincy. He has also served as Professor and Administrator at the Seminary and currently holds the Seminary’s Endowed Chair of Benevolence, Compassion, and Care. For 57 years, Dr. Crick has served as a Church of God Minister, Army Chaplain, Church Administrator, and Educator. Jeanette has served faithfully with him as the backbone of the team.
The ceremony for the Cricks was held in the Cross Chapel on Thursday May 29th at the Seminary and featured messages from Chaplain Betty Standifer, Army Chaplain (LTC-Ret) Calvin Eastham, Lee University Professor Dr. Rickie Moore, Dr. Lamar Vest, Dr. Jimmy DuPree, and Dr. Steve Land. Several current Church of God Chaplains were able to attend the special event. The induction ceremony was followed by a luncheon in honor of the Cricks.
None of us could ever forget the impact Dr. Crick and Jeanette have had, and continue to have, on our lives and ministries. Their place in the Pentecostal Theological Seminary Hall of Prophets will establish their legacy in this well-deserved place of honor.
