Music Minister Apears on National Talent show
Joshua C. Peavy, a 28 year-old youth and music pastor at the Blackville Church of God, appeared Sunday, June 22on the debut episode of Rising Star on ABC television. In addition, Peavey was the first contestant to appear and received more than enough online positive votes to advance in the competition.
Peavey is a former member of the Voices of Lee (University), and has been a licensed minister in the Church of God since 2009. He has been in full-time ministry since 2007. He won state and international Teen Talent in 2004 in the category of male vocal solo.
According to Peavey, all voting for the show is done with an interactive app that can be downloaded for smart phones or tablets. You can download the app by clicking this link http://abc.go.com/shows/rising-star/news/app/download-the-rising-star-app
Like many television competitions, online voting is key for the contestants to be successful. According to Peavey, “it takes 70% of logged in voters for the contestant to move on, so each vote is pivotal and much-needed from our church family to help support me in this endeavor. Please share with your local church and let’s shake up Hollywood and spread the name of Christ.” Television viewers evidently took Peavey’s plea to heart as he garnered 86% of the online votes.
