Church of God Sponsoring Encounter 2015

During the first week of the new year, on January 5-6, 2015, the Assemblies of God, Church of God, and the International Pentecostal Holiness Church are sponsoring Encounter 2015, a historic gathering of Pentecostal pastors and prayer leaders. The event will be held at the Northwood Temple in Fayetteville, N.C.

In addition to the above groups, leaders from the following denominations are participating: Church of God of Prophecy, Congregational Holiness, Foursquare, Pentecostal Church of God, and Pentecostal Freewill Baptist.

“The singular purpose is united prayer. Our goal is to seek God for revival in the church and awakening in the culture, with awareness that change begins in us!” stated Doug Small who is coordinating the event. “The meeting is unprecedented. In the light of our distinctive Pentecostal roots of prayer and deep dependence on God, we will gather, across denominational lines to urge our pastors to see themselves first and foremost as a holy person of God, called to spend regular time with God. To seek God’s face. To ask that He renew us. To pray for our nation. This will not be a preaching meeting – it is a prayer meeting!”

The mission of Encounter 2015 is to send a clarion prayer call to pastors. That call is a reminder to renew our commitment to prayer as standing at the heart of the pastoral ministry, and as indispensable for the mission. Encounter 2015 will encourage united, relentless prayer with a Great Awakening in view.

“We anticipate a powerful time of prayer, worship and reflection,” Small said. “To our knowledge, never in history, have these movements issued such a joint call to pastors and prayer leaders.”

The event is free, but pre-registration is encouraged. Please visit www.encounter2015.com for more information.
