‘Beyond the Pulpit’ Is Newest Video Series

Beyond the Pulpit is the latest in a series of video productions designed to assist ministers and laypersons in doing ministry better.

Introduced earlier this month, Beyond the Pulpit is a series that highlights real life, real ministry, and real pastors. It is a partnership between the Pentecostal Theological Seminary’s Center of Pastoral Excellence and Ministry Source, sponsored by Church of God Communications.

In a promotional video for Beyond the Pulpit, Williams expresses his desire to “overcome some of the disconnect, the sense of isolation, and some of the overwhelming circumstances that bi-vocational pastors face in trying to balance life and ministry.”

“We believe this video series will speak to some of the real life issues that pastors are facing,” said Bill Isaacs, director of the Center for Pastoral Excellence. “We want to resource pastors in a way that keeps them inspired and encouraged in knowing that they are connected in ways that will help them to do their job.” Isaacs stated that within the next several weeks Beyond the Pulpit will be featuring pastors from, “a large cross-section, both geographically and demographically, pastors in rural contexts and unique urban contexts, pastors who understand the dynamics…our pastors in the Church of God are excited and I believe they will be encouraged by what comes out of this series.”

In the inaugural episode, Church of God General Overseer Dr. Mark Williams interviews Craig Jutila about the journey of balancing life and ministry. Jutila is president of Empowered Living, Inc., and author of numerous books, including, “From Hectic to Healthy.”

Church of God Communications produces Beyond the Pulpit, as well as other video series, including ONE on ONE and Faith Matters. All are available for viewing at www.churchofgod.org.
