USA Missions Announces Women in Ministry Conference August 20-22, 2015
Cleveland, TN–Church of God USA Missions has announced the biennial Women in Ministry Conference to be held August 20-22, 2015 at the North Cleveland Church of God.
According to Dr. James E. Cossey, executive administrator of USA Missions this conference is the continuation of a long-standing tradition of USA Missions (formerly Evangelism and Home Missions) to provide an opportunity every two years for Church of God women ministers (both credentialed and non-credentialed) to come together in specialized training, fellowship, worship, and interaction. Cossey emphasizes that this is a conference for women preachers, teachers, counselors, youth leaders, children’s workers, music directors, and wives of ministers.
According to Cossey, “Dr. Wallace Sibley (executive divisional director) and I do not want this to be a conference conducted by men for women.” The multicultural steering committee of Church of God women included Dorothy Sibley, Myrlene Cossey, Persi Moran, Janice Hill, and Judy Pyeatt. Women will moderate all services, and all speakers will be Church of God female ministers. Both English and Spanish training tracks will be offered, and the worship services and general sessions will be interpreted in Spanish and/or English, depending on the speaker.
