Winter 2016 Issue of Engage Released

Church of God Communications has released the Winter 2016 issue of Engage, a journal for Church of God ministries. Engage is published online three times a year (January, May and September) and contains articles of interest to ministers and church staff members on how to minister more effectively in the local church and every day.

This issue contains articles on a variety of topics, and provides viewpoints from within and outside the Church of God. DR. Bill George addresses the concept of multisite churches and whether it is permanent or a passing fad. Rev. G.J. Chandler writes about his experience serving as a district overseer after he retired and its pros and cons. Several guest authors write about local church issues, such as whether or not to employ greeters at your church. Pastors will appreciate articles that speak directly to them, such as one featured in this issue on how to protect PKs.

This issue also gives the latest information on the upcoming 76th International General Assembly. Interesting and informative facts about the host city of Nashville are published for the first time in this edition, and the general overseer explains the 2016 theme, “GO.”

There is a new addition to the regularly-appearing “resources” section. “Points from the Pastoral Staff” is intended to provide an open assessment and viewpoint of working with the senior pastor and the rest of the staff in a local church. The first installment is authored by Arvil Ogle, music pastor at Family Church in West Monroe, Louisiana.

Engage is available by visiting www.cogengage.org. At the site you can view the document in a convenient turn-page format, download to your tablet or smartphone, or print it. In addition, any website listed within the publication is a live link to other resources. Archived issues are also available.
