Operation Compassion, Church of God Partnering in Flood Relief

Church of God leaders are working with Operation Compassion to speed relief to flood ravaged homes and churches in Louisiana and Mississippi.

As of Tuesday, March 15, Operation Compassion had confirmed the following aid had reached or was destined for the affected areas and specific churches:

• One semi delivered to Covington, La. – NorthShore Worship Center, Pastor Michael Newcomb

• 2nd semi leaving tomorrow (March 16) for Covington, La

• 3rd semi leaving March 16 for Shreveport, La. – Intentional Church, Pastor Rob Miskowski

• Booking a 4th semi to Greenville, Miss. – Impact Church, Pastor Scott Volland

• 5th semi going to Marks, Miss. – Goodwill Church, Pastor Anthony Dean in partnership with Pastor Raymond Aven, New Hope Church and Benevolence Director for MS

In other information received, Louisiana Overseer Melvin Schuler has been contacted and is working with the Covington church. Shuler stated that Covington has sustained significant flood damage.

Monroe, La. pastor, Ronald Brown, is under a mandatory evacuation order from their south campus. According to Brown, a levee broke last night and is looking very bad.

Mississippi Overseer Chris Moody is on his way to McLain, Miss., to assess damage; some churches in the Delta region “are in bad shape.”

According to South Central Hispanic Overseer Fidencio Burgueno, one church lost its roof and has water damage.
