New Jersey Church to Launch Alternative to Youth Purity Conference
A megachurch in New Jersey is launching a purity conference alternative for youth in their twenties and teens on Friday, April 15th at 7:00 p.m. and Saturday, April 16th at 9:00 a.m. at Calvary Chapel Old Bridge.
The two day outreach is called the “Vertical Identity Conference” and will be comprised of worship, break-out sessions, Q&A, and guest speakers who will be talking on issues such as relationships, identity, gender, and sexuality.
“The tagline for this conference is ‘Who you are is more than who you’re with.'” said Youth Pastor Alan Kahn. “I think the problem with purity conferences has been that the youth that need to be there the most never attend because of guilt, shame, or that it’s irrelevant. Instead, this outreach is focusing on the root of the problem: that people are looking to horizontal relationships to complete them. We want people to find their identity in Christ.”
Further details about this outreach can be found attiny.cc/verticalidentity or by emailing Pastor Alan Kahn [email protected]. The hashtag is #VerticalIdentity.
