‘Throw Back Thursday’ Set for General Assembly

A brand new event has been scheduled for the upcoming Church of God International General Assembly, scheduled for July 19-22 at the Music City Center in Nashville, Tennessee.

Following the evening worship service on July 21, delegates are invited to migrate just out the side entrance of the MCC to enjoy a time of music, food and fellowship on 5th Street between the Music City Center and the Omni Hotel.

Arrangements have been made with the City of Nashville to shut down the street to accommodate the expected crowds. A temporary stage will be erected and food trucks of various culinary tastes will be on site.

“Throwback Thursday is designed to be a time of fun and fellowship unlike we have ever staged before at a General Assembly,” stated David Ray, director of the General Assembly Cabinet. “We have attempted to bring artists who will appeal to all generations. This will be a family event for all delegates at the General and we hope everyone will plan to be there!”

Featured musical guest for the event will be GRAMMY® winner Jason Crabb, well known as one of the most compelling voices in any genre of music. With his power, range, and passion, he has moved easily among musical styles including gospel, country, pop and southern gospel. With his Reunion Records debut, Whatever The Road, fans of that incredible talent will gain a deeper understanding of the heart behind the voice.

Joining Jason Crabb on stage at TBT will be the duo of Jimmy and Jennifer Layne called Back Home. No strangers to the music industry, they are two of the most sought-after background singers in the country and gospel music industries. Their music has been nominated and awarded for its, “raw and heartfelt lyrics that comes from ‘real-life’ experiences.”

Throwback Thursday is open to all registered delegates of the General Assembly. To register, visit the Church of God website (www.churchofgod.org) and click on the General Assembly graphic.
