Agree ’17 to Feature Virtual Prayer Event
The Church of God International Offices is conducting a three-day revival, from Tuesday, January 10 through Thursday, January 12, 2017. The campus-wide event is part of a three-pronged emphasis entitled “Agree ’17.”
Each morning, Dr. Mark Rutland will challenge the campus staff and leadership, and in the evenings General Overseer Tim Hill will invite the Church of God around the world to pray for the harvest.
Both the morning chapel services and the virtual prayer meeting will be live streamed at www.churchofgod.org. Viewers will be able to connect to the revival services at 10:45 a.m. EST each morning and to the live prayer engagement event beginning at 7:15 p.m. EST.
“This has been a dream we have talked about for years – connecting our congregations and people in prayer and a challenge to pray, specifically, for the harvest,” Tim Hill said.
According to P. Douglas Small, prayer coordinator for the denomination, the prayer event will be, “interviews informing us of prayer needs, videos, challenges to pray – and then prayer.
Congregations will be able to listen in and pray simultaneously. After the three evenings, we believe that our people will have a vision for a global harvest and that their scope of prayer will be enlarged.”
The virtual prayer experience will follow the FINISH challenge acronym. Members of the World Missions team and the International Executive Committee of the Church of God will be involved. Members will be able to call in prayer needs and requests. The Prayer Commission and members of the State Prayer Leadership Teams will be on hand to respond personally in prayer.
Small says, “We are also looking for an intercessory force, eventually of a million people, committed to praying for the harvest.” Those who want to be directly involved as members of an audience or on the prayer lines, should contact Church of God Prayer Ministries office, [email protected]; or email [email protected].
