MWOA Takes Initiative from Africa to Global
Global Fire Advance, an international movement dedicated to evangelism, discipleship, and church planting, will take the lessons learned during the past three years in the Firewall Project Africa and propel them onto the global stage.
Global Fire Advance aims to use in Europe, Latin America, and Asia the same methodology that has been employed in Africa to plant an astounding 5,300 churches in more than 40 countries. It is an initiative of Men and Women of Action (MWOA), an independent benevolent organization with roots in the Church of God, which focuses on construction and disaster relief.
“This approach calls on indigenous lay men and women to open new groups in communities and villages within walking distance of the people who attend,” said Ronnie Hepperly, a member of the MWOA board and chairman of GFA. “Groups are not encouraged to construct buildings and some will continue indefinitely to meet in informal venues, suited to their context, rather than build.”
The movement is approved by Church of God World Missions, organized by Men and Women of Action, involves Church of God field directors, missionaries, and volunteers, and serves as an important component of the church’s FINISH initiative.
