Chaplains Commission Offers Chaplaincy Training Course

The Church of God Chaplains Commission, in cooperation with the Pentecostal Theological Seminary will offer a new Community Service Chaplaincy training format in June.

Classroom instruction with simultaneous webcast for Level I and Level II Community Service Chaplaincy will take place June 5-9 at the Pentecostal Theological Seminary in Cleveland, Tennessee. Participants have the choice to be in the classroom in Cleveland, or from their home or office anywhere in the world.

Dr. Jerry McNabb will lead the training that equips clergy and laypeople to better minister outside the walls of the local church. Local professionals in the various fields of Community Service Chaplaincy (CSC) will provide practical instruction from their expertise. Topics for the training include theology of chaplaincy, crisis and stress, public prayer, PTSD, ethics and legalities, death notifications, cycle of grief, peer support, violence cycle, and care for first responders.

Eligible attendees may take the training for 3-semester seminary hours of credit. Tuition fees are required for seminary credit. The CSC Chaplain course fee is $360 for singles and $490 for a married couple. A $100 pre-registration fee is required (applies to course fee).
