“Connect” Session, Training Conference Set for April 12
As part of a grant the Church of God received from the Lilly Foundation, the International Executive Committee will be sponsoring a livestream event later this month for pastors and church leaders.
This program, scheduled to begin at 5:00 pm ET on Thursday, April 12, 2018, will be livestreamed from the Church of God International Offices. Anyone within driving distance is welcome to be a part of the studio audience in the Leadership and Communications Center.
The event will open with members of the International Executive Committee leading a “Connect” session with pastors and denominational leaders. That interactive time will be followed by the Lilly-sponsored Pastoral Training Seminar, which includes personal financial training geared for pastors, and led by financial professionals from within the Church of God.
Church of God General Overseer Dr. Tim Hill will lead the first hour of the live-stream which will be titled, Priorities, Paradigms, and Purpose.
“We had initially looked at having multiple regional conferences across the country to provide this training, but the decision was made to instead set aside this one evening and allow everyone to participate from the comfort of their homes, saving the expenses and time of having to travel to another meeting. The Executive Committee looks forward to using this electronic medium to provide connection and training to pastors.”
Dr. Lynn Stone, coordinator of the Lilly Grant initiative said, “Speakers scheduled for the minister’s training conference will offer short, dynamic presentations that hopefully will forever change your financial outlook as a minister of the Gospel.” Subjects to be addressed during the session and the session leaders include pastoral financial strategies (First Assistant General Overseer Raymond F. Culpepper), heading off a financial crisis (Art Rhodes and Clayton Watson), money and the family (Rhodes and Watson), and a final session led by Stone entitled, “Money Enough.” Third Assistant General Overseer David Ramirez will lead a prayer and benediction.
Anyone planning to attend in person should contact Susana Gongora at (423) 478-7897 to pre-register so adequate preparations may be made. Livestream access will be available on the home page of the Church of God website, www.churchofgod.org on the day of the event.
