Adult Discipleship Offers National Day of Prayer Resources
Church of God Adult Discipleship announces the availability of resources connected with the upcoming National Day of Prayer set for Thursday, May 2, all across America. This is the day each year when believers of all denominations join hands and hearts and pray together for God to bless and guide our nation back to righteous principles and practices.
A special conference call prayer will be offered the evening of May 2 by leaders of various movements and ministries including facilitator Peggy Scarborough, Church of God Men’s Discipleship Director O. Wayne Brewer, Church of God Women’s Discipleship Director Pamela Brewer, Rick Lairsey and many others. Praying will take place on a conference call from 8 – 10 p.m. EST at 712.432.0075. Use participant code 4961322# to join.
A key theme for prayer this year is “Loving the People Groups of America” as well as “Loving the Lost,” “Loving the Hurting Multitudes,” “Loving the Nations’ Leadership,” “Loving the Unborn and the Elderly” and “Loving the Family.”
“This is a time for all Christians to come together with repentant hearts and intercede for this nation and this generation . . . as the kingdom of priests we are called to be” said O. Wayne Brewer, Church of God Adult Discipleship Co-Director.
To help support local congregations to disciple believers in biblical dynamics of praying, Church of God Adult Discipleship is featuring the resource Praying: The Breath of Life, an 8-week prayer discipleship training resource which teaches eight biblical types of praying based on the men and women of Scripture who prayed them. Chapters include “Intimacy with God,” “Believing God,” “Giving Thanks to God,” “Praising God,” “Spiritual Warfare Praying,” “Refusing to Give Up,” “Learning to Lean” and “Interceding With God.” When a congregation purchases ten or more volumes, a free 8-session two-DVD teaching set will be included.
