Petersen Elected Moderator of Full Gospel Church of God
South Africa—-Dr. Stafford Petersen was recently reelected to serve as moderator for the Full Gospel Church of God in Southern Africa. Theme for the conference is “Renewed In Spirit.”
Petersen was elected during the church’s general conference being conducted this week in South Africa. By virtue of his election, Petersen will continue to serve as a member of the Church of God International Executive Council.
“All thanks goes to God my father for His grace, His mercy and His protection,” Stafford told the delegates of the conference upon his confirmation on the first ballot. “Forward we will go to the most High God.”
“Brother Peterson leads a tremendous ministry of well over 1,400 churches and ministries throughout South Africa,” stated Church of God General Overseer Tim Hill. “I commend and congratulate him, as well as the other members of the South Africa Executive Committee on their elections to return for new terms of service.” Hill stated that this year, South Africa FGCOG celebrates the 25th anniversary of the unification of four groups, “coming together to reap a tremendous harvest of souls.”
Hill was a featured speaker during the opening night this week’s conference on October 24. He and his wife Paula are in attendance along with other Church of God leaders including Dr. M. Thomas Propes, General Director of World Missions and Dr. John D. Childers, Assistant Director of World Missions.
