“Kick-Off” Event Held at Azusa Street Prayer Tower
Los Angeles, CA–On Monday, January 15, 2024, approximately 75 people were on-site with more than 2,000 participating globally via Zoom and on YouTube as Dr. Niko Njotorahardjo, speaking via Zoom from Indonesia, declared the “Kickoff” of the Third Pentecost Azusa Street Prayer Tower in downtown Los Angeles, located only 200 feet from the original site of the Azusa Street Revival.
Greetings and prayer were offered from Dr. Mark Williams, Senior Pastor of the North Cleveland Church of God, while officially closing the celebration was a special charge and prayer from Dr. Tim Hill, Presiding Bishop of the Church of God.
Jointly leading the service on-site were Dr. Sean O’Neal, Administrative Bishop of the Church of God for California-Nevada, along with Pastor Raymond Pranoto from Washington, D.C. The two serve along with Pastor Niko as the leadership team and were instrumental in acquiring and coordinating leases, renovation, and government permitting of the prayer tower as envisioned by Pastor Niko. Prophetic words and prayers came from leaders across the globe, who were Zooming in to participate in the historic moment, including from Israel, Latin America, India, the Caribbean, the USA, and Japan.
In his message, Pastor Niko, translated by Church of God missionary to Indonesia, Rev. Tommy Smith, shared the testimony of how God spoke to him of a last days Spirit outpouring as prophesied in Joel 2:28-32 during a 2013 Empowered21 Asia conference he hosted in Jakarta. It was during this time that the Holy Spirit gave Pastor Niko the name —“Third Pentecost” – for this extraordinary Spirit outpouring. Two years later, in 2015, Pastor Niko would again declare his vision of a Third Pentecost during a global Empowered21 conference held in Jerusalem during the week of Pentecost that year.
According to Pastor Niko, the “First Pentecost” occurred in the Upper Room in Jerusalem 2,000 years ago as recorded in Acts chapter two. A “Second Pentecost” occurred in Los Angeles, California in 1906, known as the “Azusa Street Revival.”
The clearer understanding of a “Third Pentecost” began to emerge during another Empowered21 conference Pastor Niko hosted in Jakarta 2018, during which the Reverend Cindy Jacobs prophesied that Pastor Niko was to be the “Messenger of the Third Pentecost.” Additionally, she declared that although birthed in Indonesia, the Third Pentecost would spread from the East to the West and back to Jerusalem.
As Indonesia represented the “East” in Jacobs’ prophecy, Pastor Niko believes that “the United States of America represents the ‘West,’ providing motivation to open the prayer tower for the Third Pentecost at the epicenter of the Second Pentecost in Los Angeles, from
which this Third Pentecost Spirit outpouring would spread globally and return to Jerusalem.”
During the January 15 ceremony, Dr. Michael Baker, president of the Pentecostal Theological Seminary in Cleveland, TN, shared and reminded viewers that on the SPIRIT NETWORK—a ministry of PTS—there is a “Third Pentecost Channel” featuring Pastor Niko.
According to Pastor Niko, the Holy Spirit revealed understanding of the five pillars of the Third Pentecost through the ministry of other Spirit-anointed leaders such as William Seymour, Russell Evans, Cindy Jacobs, and Tim Hill. Pastor Niko explains “my part was gathering and assembling the pieces like a puzzle.”
Pastor Niko has outlined his vision in the past. The Third Pentecost Azusa Street Prayer Tower is both a fruit and a vehicle for the fulfillment of the five pillars. First, the Third Pentecost is a tremendous outpouring of the Holy Spirit today (now) which exceeds that of the Azusa Street Revival outpouring. Second, the Third Pentecost will result in the greatest and final harvest of souls before the Lord Jesus comes again. Third, the Third Pentecost will raise up a Jeremiah generation, namely young people who are filled with the Holy Spirit, desperately in love with the Lord Jesus, who refuse to compromise with sin, and seek to win souls. Fourth, the Third Pentecost was birthed in Indonesia but is spreading to the nations, moving / traveling from the East to the West and returning to Jerusalem. And finally, the Third Pentecost will provide power to finish the Great Commission of the Lord Jesus, and after that the Lord Jesus will come again!
The vision of a 24/7 Prayer Tower is the goal, but with this official kick-off, the “Third Pentecost Azusa Street Prayer Tower” is moving several steps toward fulfillment. With many ministries and organizations targeting the completion of the Great Commission by 2033, plans are to lease this Azusa Street location and operate this prayer tower until the end of 2033.
“We built on the foundations of great people who prayed here 118 years ago,” O’Neal said. “Launching this prayer tower into daily prayer operation will impact nations and the world with global last day revival!”
Located on the corner of San Pedro and Azusa streets in downtown Los Angeles, the Third Pentecost Azusa Street Prayer Tower is open Monday – Saturday 10AM – 1PM and on
Sunday 2PM – 5PM PST.
