Smoky Mountain Gathering ’25 Slated for Next Month

For more than 30 years, the Church of God has anticipated the annual Smoky Mountain Gathering, a fun-filled three days of music, worship, fellowship, and talent for Church of God senior adults.

The jam-packed 2025 event takes place next month, April 29-May 1 at the Gatlinburg Convention Center in Gatlinburg, Tenn. The Tuesday night opening service features a special Red Back Hymnal singing led by Danny Murray and other guests, including past general overseer and Gospel recording artist Dr. Tim Hill. Each registered delegate will receive a commemorative copy of the iconic hymnal in which to sing along. Hymnals are sponsored by Deacon Jones Automotive.

The lineup on Wednesday evening will be highlighted by Gospel music artist Mark Lowry, of Mark Lowry and Friends. Special guests include the group Endless Highway and Riley Harrison Clark, and featuring the Lowry Vocal Band. Lowry’s claims to fame include years with the Gaither Vocal Band and composer of the classic Christmas song, “Mary, Did You Know.”

Leading off both Tuesday and Wednesday evening services and the Thursday morning closing ceremony will be Christian comedienne Crystal Russell reprising her lovable character, “Claudine.”

Keynote speaker for Wednesday will be Church of God General Overseer Gary Lewis. Other highlights of the Gathering include a banquet sponsored by SpiritCare, and a special Thursday morning breakfast hosted by Ministry to the Military, with a special tribute to honor veterans later that morning.

No Smoky Mountain Gathering would be complete without the popular Senior Adult Talent Showcase. Delegates will be entertained by their peers with some of the most diverse and moving performances, set to take place beginning on Wednesday morning at 9:00 with awards to follow on Thursday morning. Talent categories include music, drama, art, and creative writing and will feature contestants who have competed at the state/regional level.

All the above is available for an event registration fee of only $85. Hotel accommodations, entertainment and meals outside of scheduled events are not included, but hotel group rates are available. More information about all of the above and how to register can be found at the website smokymountaingathering.com.
