Agenda for General Assembly Released

July 1, 2026–The General Council Agenda for the upcoming 80th International General Assembly of the Church of God has been released by General Overseer Gary Lewis and the International Executive Committee.

The “Empowered Agenda” document contains items to address during the General Council business sessions, as well as additional motions and resolutions that come from the floor. The General Council begins on Tuesday morning, July 28, 2026, at the Orange County Convention Center in Orlando, Florida.

Official business starts with announcements and then nominations and elections. Due to tenure limitations, a majority of the Council of Eighteen will have new members elected by the Council. The one post open in executive leadership is nomination of the next Director of World Missions. All other posts are currently in mid-term.

The Agenda was prepared by the General Council Agenda Committee (GCAC) and presented to the International Executive Council at their most recent meeting in early April where they debated and processed the GCAC’s work. The final document is required to be released at least 30 days prior to the start of business and is now available to the General Council.

“I am excited about this agenda.” Lewis stated. “Every item is important, no matter how minor, and I ask that the Ordained Bishops (General) Council prayerfully review this document before we gather for our opening session on July 28.” Business and debate of the General Council will conclude on Friday morning, July 31 and be followed by the General Assembly at 1:00 pm.
