Day two of the Church of God World Missions Centennial began with a compilation of historical songs from the red back hymnal. In the morning service Tim Oldfield, pastor of Potter’s Houses and a Church of God World Missions board member, brought the Word to the delegates attending the event in Nassau. He stressed the importance of sharing the Word with the world stating, “My worry is that the Word of the Lord will be lost within the church. The Word of the King is powerful,” Oldfield said.

Following the service, attendees went to different breakout sessions. Victor Pagan, assistant director of World Missions, hosted the administrative leaders. Bobby Collins, pastor of World Outreach Worship Center in Virginia and also a World Missions board member, worked with pastors, while R. Terrell Brinson, field representative and supervisor of Missions Mobilization, hosted a breakout session with laity.

Keynote speaker Raymond Culpepper, general overseer for the Church of God, brought the Word from I Corinthians 16:8,9 sharing of how God has, “set an open door for you and when He opens the door no one can shut it.” Culpepper spoke of the “first” missionary – Paul the Apostle. Paul was captivated by the possibilities of an open door. He would turn street corners to preaching centers .

“Open doors are divine opportunities,” Culpepper continued. “However, open doors are always framed by devilish opportunities…God has his timing set so far in advance. Time is the essence.”

The final sessions of the World Missions Centennial celebration take place today, January 7, 2010.
