Over 1,000 Expected for MIP Commissioning
Cleveland, TN–The Ministerial Internship Program (MIP) Commissioning Celebration will be held this weekend at the North Cleveland Church of God with nearly 1,000 delegates in attendance.
“The services will be a milestone for the MIP participants as they celebrate the eight months of preparation for Spirit-filled ministry,” said Dr. Don Bennett, coordinator for the Ministerial Development/School of Ministry of the Church of God Division of Education.
The MIP is a critical step in training for ministry in the Church of God. Participants receive a certificate of completion and it is a step in the process toward ministry credentials. Spouses of MIP candidates are encouraged to participate in the weekend commissioning as partners in ministry.
The weekend of events will begin with registration and optional tours of the international offices on Friday, May 20. In the Friday evening service, Church of God Secretary General Dr. Wallace Sibley will preach and then lead in communion as the participants consecrate themselves to missional ministry.
In the Saturday afternoon service, Dr. Mark Williams, assistant general overseer for the Church of God and executive director of the Division of Education, will present each MIP candidate and supervising pastor with the book, The Great Commission Connection. In conclusion, Church of God General Overseer Dr. Raymond Culpepper will present a message, intercede with a commissioning prayer, and anoint and pray for each MIP candidate and spouse.
