Operation Compassion Expands Scope of Disaster Relief

It seems this spring has brought about new challenges for disaster relief across the United States from week to week. The latest being the devastating and destructive storm that hit Joplin, MO; with thousands of homes and businesses destroyed, including the Regional Medical Center, injuries and fatalities climbing and survivors shocked by the aftermath. For Operation Compassion and their disaster relief partners, it is another opportunity to help people caught in unexpected circumstances.

Operation Compassion and its disaster relief partners are in full swing, setting up a disaster site in Joplin, complete with a mobile kitchen capable of cooking 3,000 hot meals per day. Disaster goods and products are also being sent as our partners help respond to the needs of the survivors.

In addition, Operation Compassion has sent 2 trucks of relief goods to those recovering from flooding along the Mississippi River. A semi-truck of sheet rock will be delivered to help those rebuilding their homes and 6 additional flood disaster relief sites have been established to help in the recovery process.

Spring 2011, for many, is synonymous with destruction. Join Operation Compassion in making Spring 2011 synonymous with hopefulness.
