New Web Site Posted for Iris B. Vest Widows Ministry Center
The Iris B. Vest Widows Ministry Center announces the posting of their new Web site at www.widowscenter.org.
According to Dr. Coleman Peacock, director of the Widows Center, the new site is rich with updated information about The Center as well as downloadable pdf files for the use and enjoyment of churches and individuals.
“The design of the site is simple and user friendly with crisp graphics and scalable fonts, making it easy for senior citizens to navigate and read,” Peacock said. “Translation to Spanish is immediate when you highlight a word, paragraph, or entire article and hover the pointer over it. Also, there are icons for giving online and sending messages to the administration.”
The Iris B. Vest Widows Ministry Center (founded 2003) is a non-profit, residential facility for needy widows operating under the auspices of the Church of God Division of Care. It is a part of no one’s budget (church, neither state nor federal). It relies entirely upon free will contributions and the minimal rents that residents can afford to pay. The Center is founded on the commandment of Jesus: “Pure religion and undefiled before God and the Father is this; to care for the fatherless and the widows in their affliction…” James 1:27, KJV.
The Center is located on the campus of the Smoky Mountain Children’s Home in Sevierville, Tennessee. It is a spacious facility totaling over 40,000 square feet of living space. An attractive design includes many spacious common areas and 41 living suites—each one having approximately 525 square feet of space.
“The Center is home to many widows who have dedicated their lives to servant ministry,” Peacock continued. “For many years, they have daily blessed many with their love and compassion. These widows are a treasure that will be nurtured and encouraged at The Center. Our priority is to provide an opportunity for widows to build a new life and utilize their ministry strengths and talents. The Church of God is proud that God has blessed our widows with such a beautiful facility.”
