Youth and Discipleship Offers DC-’11 EAGLES Leadership Initiative

“Identify. Launch. Develop. Soar.” Church of God International Youth & Discipleship is pleased to announce the “Eagles Class of 2011!”

This year’s Eagles Leadership Initiative proved to empower and captivate the hearts and minds of many exceptional students in the denomination. Fifty-four young adults, (target age 17-24) gathered in beautiful Washington, DC for a leadership training experience that combined lecture, history, discipleship, motivation, learning, site-seeing, experience, prayer, patriotism, the Word of God and fun into five unforgettable days!

The carefully selected participants, from around the US (and one from Canada), were exposed to the rich history and grandeur of our Nation’s capital. They developed their strengths and leadership potential for effective witness, service and community transformation in the future. Tom Madden, International Director stated, “We believe in equipping young men and women who are committed to Scriptural disciplines, to become confident, skilled and motivated to represent Christ in deed and truth, in order to transform their worlds.”

Participant Blake Feagans (pictured below), recounts “The Eagles Experience will truly help young leaders to “soar” over whatever life may throw at them. You will leave flying higher and faster than you did coming in and with more wisdom and a family of believers supporting you along your way.” Church of God Youth and Discipleship International Coordinator, Randall Parris believes that partnering with young leaders, like Blake, is essential to their spiritual discipling and will therefore eternally impact their generation and denomination, for the glory of God!

This group of young leaders left DC with a deep sense of how Scripture inspired the men and women who founded this country and led its great advances. These young leaders are now better prepared to communicate truths of the Bible. They were taught specific leadership skills and techniques equipping them to reach and teach others. This DC-’11 Eagles Leadership experience finished on the 4th of July, as they watched the National Fireworks display just above the Lincoln Memorial monument!
