This is more than a day of prayer; it is a call to intercession and an invitation to demonstrate compassion to those who have never heard the Gospel. There are more than 6,000 unreached people groups throughout the world. This Global Day To Pray brings focus to who they are and where they are today.

Cleveland, TN—October 23, 2014– Dr. R. Lamar Vest was inaugurated today as the tenth president of the Pentecostal Theological Seminary. The ceremony took place in the Cross Chapel on the Church of God institution’s campus.

During the upcoming Winter Jam Christian music tour, Holt International Children’s Services and Christian artist group NewSong will come together to advocate for orphaned, abandoned and vulnerable children around the world! At every concert, NewSong will encourage concertgoers to sponsor a child through Holt. While the tour will continue through the spring, Holt urgently needs hundreds of volunteers for 9 West Coast concert dates in November. Volunteers will serve as Holt ambassadors, answering questions and signing up new child sponsors.

You’ve no doubt heard of the classic Star Wars movie, The Empire Strikes Back. Well, it’s time for a new movie and it’s just starting. It’s called, The Pastors Strike Back.

After the breakout success of God’s Not Dead, faith-bas ed film studio Pure Flix Entertainment is gearing up to produce a sequel. Pure Flix CEO and managing partner Michael Scott said his studio has a number of projects in the works for next year, including God’s Not Dead 2.

Abundant Life, a Church of God congregation in the Tampa, Fla. area, has annually sponsored a community-wide event called CareFest. The event takes place every September with the theme being “Bee Caretagious.”

The times in which we live are unprecedented in the history of America. Every generation thinks the cultural decline is worse than in prior times. These times are clearly unprecedented—at least in American history. But the threats we face today are not unprecedented in Judeo-Christian history, a point I will address later.

EFRAT, Israel — Last week, hundreds of Christians from around the world celebrated the Feast of Tabernacles in Israel with Rabbi Shlomo Riskin that included a ‘praise service’ of the Hallel – Psalms 113-118. The event was unprecedented, the first time an Orthodox Jewish Rabbi invited the Christian community to such a gathering. Rabbi Riskin is the Chief Rabbi of Efrat, serves as Israel’s Ambassador for Jewish-Christian Relations and is Founder of the Center for Jewish-Christian Understanding and Cooperation (CJCUC). Long time veteran in Jewish-Christian relations, Cheryl Hauer of Bridges for Peace said, “I waited 25 years for this moment and this was the first time where we (Christians) felt completely accepted by the Jewish community in the Land.”
