Vina is a member of the Valley Station Church of God, in Louisville, Kentucky. Her pastor is Reverend Timothy James Bass. The church recently presented a check in the amount of $2,026.00 to the Smoky Mountain Children’s Home. When Valley Station initiated the project, immediately a member of the church (who desires to remain anonymous) gave $1,000 towards the project. The balance of the $1,026.00 was raised by people giving literally thousands of pennies to the Children’s Home.
Losch, a member of the Valley Station church, delivered the check to the Children’s Home and stated, “We feel honored and blessed to share in supporting the Smoky Mountain Children’s Home.” Dr. Walt Mauldin, Executive Director of the Children’s Home, noted his thankfulness for the generous gift and ingenuity of Sister Vina to continue the tradition of the “penny march” to raise funds for The Home. Losch stated, “We look forward to seeing you again when we get our 25-gallon can full of pennies!”
