LOS ANGELES — For the first time ever, the Los Angeles Dream Center will be hosting a virtual gala for its annual Night of Dreams celebration, due to the current circumstances and the current health and safety guidelines established by the City of Los Angeles. The theme for this year’s annual celebration is “Dream Again.” The goal is to raise awareness and build support for the Dream Center’s residential and outreach programs for veterans and the homeless, pandemic meal drive-thru relief, and restart learning centers. “Dream Again” will take place on October 14th at 9 PM EST / 6 PM PST.

The Biblical Archaeology Society, publisher of “Biblical Archaeology Review” (BAR), a niche magazine, will host its signature event online this fall. The 23rd Annual Bible and Archaeology Fest, on October 24–25, offers live talks from leading Bible scholars and archaeologists from around the world via the popular Zoom computer application. Registered, paid participants can enjoy two days of online learning with several experts in fields of biblical and archaeological studies.

Samaritan’s Purse is responding to the historic wildfires that continue to devastate the West Coast as thousands of families return to find their homes and years of priceless memories destroyed. The organization’s volunteers are on the ground in Santa Cruz, California, helping impacted communities sift through the ashes— searching for anything that may have survived the flames. A team of disaster response specialists is also working with local officials and church partners in Medford, Oregon. As soon as local authorities provide necessary clearance, volunteers will begin helping families start to recover.
