Why would a guy whose family and acquaintances describe as “friendly” sneak more than 23 handguns and rifles into a hotel room, fire them at a crowd of 22,000 people and then shoot himself?

The Billy Graham Rapid Response Team has deployed chaplains to Las Vegas following last night’s horrific mass shooting on the Las Vegas Strip. The attack, which took place at a country music festival near the Mandalay Bay Hotel and Casino, is now the deadliest mass shooting on American soil in modern history.

Late last week, Operation Compassion began filling containers and airplanes headed for the Caribbean in the wake of Hurricane Maria. With electricity and other services non-existent on many island nations, Operation Compassion has been dealing with church leaders and heads of government trying to formulate a successful strategy for assisting the survivors. While the logistics of getting one container to an island port struggling to provide services is extremely difficult, Operation Compassion is trying to maximize the opportunity for getting product where the people in need are located.
