As the memory of Hurricane Maria fades for some, that memory is still fresh and vivid for those trying to recover throughout the Caribbean. Puerto Rico was hit especially hard, losing the vast majority of their infrastructure.
Lee University’s Dr. Louis F. Morgan will speak at the 12th Annual Azusa Lecture on Tuesday, Nov. 14, at 7 p.m. in the North Cleveland Church of God’s Dixon Chapel.
Morgan, director of library services at Lee, will speak on “Fanning the Flame: Reflections on a Century of Church of God Education.”
A faculty member at Lee since 2003, Morgan previously served as archivist at the Dixon Pentecostal Research Center (Church of God archives) and also as curatorial assistant at the Museum Center at Five Points in downtown Cleveland.
In addition to his responsibilities in Squires Library at Lee University, Morgan teaches graduate courses in leadership and serves as an academic advisor. He also serves on the Dean’s Council, Academic Council, and Master of Ministry Studies graduate committee.
Sevierville, TN–The Parkway Church of God in Sevierville will host a “Celebrate Israel” event on Monday evening, November 13 at 7:00 p.m. at the Parkway church.
Frontier Kidfest, sponsored by Church of God International Youth and Discipleship, is set for April 6-8. Online registration is now open for individuals and groups for the conference at the Westin Hotel in Irving, Texas that will attract hundreds of kids.
November 6, 2017–Dr. Timothy M. Hill, General Overseer of the Church of God, received word at 11:30 a.m. EST today that Juan Ignacio Macias, son of Church of God national evangelist Ignacio Macias, is one of the victims of the massacre that took place yesterday at the First Baptist Church of Sutherland Springs, Texas. Juan underwent surgery yesterday for his injuries and is slated for more surgery today. Bishop Macias was preaching in California yesterday and is in route to Texas to be with his son.
