As recently as June 2016, Church of God World Missions was made aware of the continuing conflict in war-torn Eastern Ukraine. Tom Rosson, regional superintendent/president CIS/ETS-Moscow, reported shelling continued to take place in towns and villages along the front. Mironovskly was littered with destroyed homes and apartment buildings, and the team had to go through multiple checkpoints and defense lines to even get on site. Deadly firefights consistently happened throughout the region.
The fifteenth annual Clarence J. Abbott Lectures in Biblical Studies will be given February 21 and 23 in Cross Memorial Chapel at the Pentecostal Theological Seminary.
On January 14, 2017, the Church of God in Pakistan celebrated its 40th Anniversary by beginning a new school to train ministers. Pentecostal Theological Seminary Pakistan was organized by Education Director Joel Rehmat. (NOTE: Seminary is a common name for many international Bible schools; the Pentecostal Theological Seminary in Cleveland, Tenn., is not sponsoring this school.)
As part of a continuing prayer emphasis set in place by General Overseer Tim Hill, pastors and members, especially prayer leaders and intercessors, are being invited to the International Offices of the Church of God in Cleveland, Tennessee during a special day set aside for prayer.
