Once again Operation Compassion will be a part of a combined federal campaign charity federation of “America’s Most Cost-Effective Charities.” In order to be listed in this group, charities must not spend more than 1% of the total income for overhead expenses.
A 21 day prayer emphasis for the Church of God in 2016 has grown compared to last year. This year, in addition to Church of God administrative bishops leading prayer segments, leaders from a dozen or more denominations are participating.
To assist the local church in their children’s ministry, Church of God Youth and Discipleship has some exciting plans for the coming months. To recognize children’s workers who have served long term in children’s ministry, a Shepherd’s Cup award is presented annually at the 22nd annual FOCUS Children’s Ministry Conference, convening in Knoxville, Tennessee on March 3-5. The award had been presented to an elite group of deserving children’s ministry leaders.
Dr. R. Lamar Vest, Dr. Bryan Cutshall, and Bill Isaacs have partnered to create a one-day training experience for pastors and local church leaders called “The Healthy Church,” and the first of several such conferences recently took place in Illinois, according to a report by State Administrative Bishop Dennis Page.
January 8, 2016–Nashville, TN—Church of God North American administrative bishops and their wives are gathered in Nashville, Tennessee today for the second day of a Leadership Conference at the site of the upcoming 76th International General Assembly, GA16.
The Global Institute for Ministry and Training (GIMT), a strategic partner with Church of God USA Missions, recently announced the appointment of three international coordinators who will schedule and facilitate Islam and evangelism training around the globe.
