The Dixon Pentecostal Research Center (DPRC) recently received the John H. Thweatt Archival Advancement Award from the Society of Tennessee Archivists (STA). The award is presented each year to individuals, groups, or organizations that have made significant contributions to the advancement of archives and archival issues within Tennessee.
Eastern North Carolina Administrative Bishop O. Wayne Brewer, along with nine ministers from the region, traveled to Guayaquil, Ecuador in November to assist in the planting of a new church. The Church of God leadership in Guayaquil has set an ambitious goal of planting forty new churches in their city by 2020 and welcomed the assistance from the North Carolina ministers.
Church of God General Overseer Mark Williams has declared January 4, 2015 as “Declaration of Faith Sunday.”
On November 14, 2014, the Indonesian Ministry Church of God (IM COG) held a conference in Dallas, Texas. In the initial years of world evangelism, missionaries were welcomed and allowed into most countries to just spread the Gospel. As time and cultures progressed, a missionary now will only be accepted if he/she has a skill or career, such as medical or educational, that will benefit the society into which they are called to minister.
Leaders of the Church of God in the entire Caribbean region converged on the island of Puerto Rico recently for the first Leadership Orientation and Symposium following General Assembly 2014.
