During the course of the weekend anniversary celebration, an appreciation banquet was hosted at the prestigious Moselum Springs restaurant, at which time the Hinsons were presented with an all-expense paid trip to Greece. The following day, Sunday, September 27, included two guest speakers, Kelly Shope, Pennsylvania state youth and Christian education director, who spoke in the 8:00 AM service, and Church of God First Assistant General Overseer Tim Hill, who spoke in the 9:30 & 11:30 services.
As part of the celebration, special presentations honoring the Hinsons’ 35 years of faithful service were presented. They included an Appreciation Award from Pennsylvania Administrative Bishop Rodney Jeffords and flowers from the local women’s ministry.
The most notable of the honors was the presentation of the deed to the parsonage the Hinsons had raised their family in during the course of their tenure.
The actions of the Spring Valley Church of God congregation demonstrated their expression of sincere love for the Hinsons, honoring a pastor who has honored God.
