For almost three hours, a Camp Meeting-style atmosphere filled the sanctuary as some of the best known voices in Southern Gospel led a happy and jubilant crowd in praising the Lord. Included in the mix were some Tim Hill songs highlighted throughout the evening including He’s Still In The Fire and In The Midst of it All.
The evening ended with all performers on stage singing some great old “red back” songs that kept the crowd on their feet singing along.
During the event, the Tim and Paula Hill initiated a “songwriters scholarship” through Lee University. Dr. Hill announced the scholarship by saying, “I want to help young and aspiring psalmists, find their opportunity to develop a skill that can help keep the church singing and reaching the world with the gospel in song.”
On Monday, March 26, the Hill Covenant Team and the Division of World Evangelization gathered for a special dinner to honor the Hill’s completion of tenure on the Church of God Executive Committee. At the close of the evening, Dr. Hill announced that all funds given in their honor that evening went totally to Ministerial Care, specifically for assisting church planters, evangelists, and missionaries desiring emergency or crises counseling. Brother Hill ended his remarks honoring his family, including his parents, John and Mildred, both 83 and in attendance for this special occasion.
