One of the five focused upon is Redemption Point Church in Ooltewah, Tennessee. A 15-year-old girl who survived a shooting rampage that took the lives of her parents and all four of her siblings, spoke to a crowd Saturday, saying happiness can be found in the darkest of times. Her grandfather said she recalled feeling “as though angels were with her, putting her hands over her mouth and whispering her to be quiet.”

Survivors become dependent upon resources being mobilized by government agencies and non-profit charities. For families, it can become a life or death struggle trying to find food, water and shelter, the basic necessities of life.

As the author of a book titled Fight Like a Girl, I saw my Facebook page inundated with posts of #LikeAGirl after this video released last week. To be honest, these posts came in the middle of a very busy weekend when I spoke to 13,000 youth before flying to another city for multiple worship services. I hadn’t viewed the video until my son, Alec, texted me the link with the message, “Check out this awesome video. You’ll love it.” And he was right.

As he sat in his prison cell, surely he must have reflected back on the incredible ministry he had once had. He had been called by God from the time he was still in his mother’s womb, to preach repentance from sins – to prepare the way of the Lord. There was nothing at all average about him. He had a clear and strong destiny, and as a young man, he set out to fulfill it.
