The Sumerian King List (SKL) was written over 400 years before Moses compiled the narratives of Genesis which include genealogies of people who lived an average of 900 years prior to Noah’s Flood. Correspondingly, the SKL recorded reigns of 58 to 120 years for eight kings before “the flood.” Scholars knew the unit of the large Sumerian antediluvian reigns were days, easily solved by dividing them by Noah’s 360-day year to determine the regnal years; but they couldn’t figure out the unit for the reigns “after the flood.” This author has validated that post-flood units are months, because the calculations using months equal the sub-totals provided within the Sumerian King List.
