Since 1992, the Church of God has maintained a dedicated prayer room at its International General Assembly. In the early years, it was simply a room where people could gather for fervent prayer to begin their day. Over the last decade, the room has been open throughout the day for prayer teams to pray the nations of the world, to consider the need for a Great Awakening, to pray for unreached peoples and more.
On Tuesday, March 22, 2016, terrorists attacked the city of Brussels, Belgium, causing death to at least 34 people in two locations.
Relief efforts continue in the flood ravaged region of Mississippi and Louisiana. During the first three days, Church of God’s partner agency, Operation Compassion, sent seven semi-trailers loaded with emergency supplies and products. Four more semi-trailers were staged and ready for delivery. Critical items such as bleach and cleaning supplies, disaster boxes and buckets, bottled water and blankets were loaded on these semi-trailers.
Last week, Chris Wallace, Pastor of the Victory Worship Center Church of God in Chicago, Illinois, opened the Chicago session of city council with prayer.
